Zhengyalov Hatz

Glendale Open 10 AM – 8 PM 4.7 (609) 318 E Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205

About this place

Step into Zhengyalov Hatz off the streets of Glendale and you get a casual welcome without the showroom polish. an easygoing pace does the quiet work of making strangers feel expected.

What lands on the table tends to be specific rather than generic: think house specialties, plates built for sharing, and the kitchen's daily strengths prepared without theatrics. Coffee and pastry get the same care as the savory side.

If you are mapping a Glendale evening, put Zhengyalov Hatz where you can stay for a second round instead of sprinting to the next pin. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 318 E Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205.

If your notes for Glendale need one reliable kitchen, start here. Zhengyalov Hatz earns the ink with a solid meal and a room that remembers hospitality.

Before you visit, skim recent neighbor notes on the listing and confirm hours on the door. Platefolk keeps this page as a field guide, not a frozen brochure - the best proof is still sitting down for a meal.

What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a Zhengyalov Hatz visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

Thought I knew what a hat was. Boy was I wrong. My family loved this restaurant and its namesake, zhengylav hatz. However, the real stars were the gorgeous, steaming pots of tea. At the bottom of the "cinnamon and nuts" tea pot is a delicious, sweet, candied something that you're probably not supposed to eat (but tastes really good!). 5 stars for food, service, vibes, removing my cultural cataracts, and for candied secrets. However, I will have to give 0 stars because there were no hats.

My favorite Armenian vegetarian food! This place has excellent service and nice ambience where you can enjoy delicious zhengyalov hats made fresh to order.

Wow! I've never eaten much Armenian food, but I figured heck, why not? Was not disappointed! I got their namesake, and LOVE IT! All those herbs chopped up and wrapped up? On top of that, the mint and thyme tea? Yeah... I was sort of suffering some weird thing where I kept having to clear my throat. Tons of "ahems" and other old people noises 👴🏻. But just a bite of that Zhengyalov Hatz, and honestly I was healed! Some of the best food, and quite healthy! For sure, I'm coming back, and I'm bringing friends!

Ordered the beef shawarma, lahmajun, and baklava which were all delicious! Bread was baked fresh, beef had crispy edges, and condiments were just the right amount! Baklava was unique with just a light crust on the top and bottom of the filling. Delicious and not too sweet! Not a big menu, but what they do, they do well!Food: 5/5Recommended dishesPaxlava

Absolutely love this place. It’s so cute and feels like home like being in Armenia. The food is made with so much heart that it feels like medicine for the body. You can truly feel the kind energy of the people cooking. Wishing them continued success!

My favorite type of restaurant. The menu is short and sweet, meaning that have perfected their craft and it makes your selection easy. The Zhengyalov Hatz is a must try, so fresh and light and satisfying. The pork shawarma was a bit dry, but tasted good. The interior was beautifully decorated in traditional Armenian decor. Staff are polite and food comes out fast.

This place was a whole vibe… a travel experience. The traditional Flat bread with 7 different herbs was great, I just wish we had a dip or condiment to pair it with. Beautiful baklava and loved the open kitchen view to the ladies making the flat bead.

Visited this place when in LA to see my relatives. As usual - they propose an authentic Armenian restaurant. We go to Zhengyalov Hatz and it was a great choice. Top notch service with super friendly staff. Amazing flat grams and meat. Everything was fresh and delicious. Tea with paxlava to wrap up the amazing meal was great. Will definitely be back.

January 2025:Stopped by for lunch and ordered the zhengyalov sandwich, the meat pie and the baklava. I enjoyed everything. The zhengyalov was very interesting. A very nice combo of herbs wrapped in a warm flatbread. The beef pie was tasty. Came with a lemon 🍋 wedge. For dessert, the baklava tasted fresh and not super sweet (which I liked). Service was okay.

A very cozy and stylish spot with authentic Armenian vibes! The Zhengyalov Hats is incredibly juicy and flavorful— it’s probably the only herb-based meal that feels just as hearty and nutritious as a meat dish. Their Pakhlava and Armenian coffee are also excellent. Highly recommended!
